The immensely talented Mr Stuart Kerr sent us his view from the Marque talk from his sketch book:
View more of his fantastic sketchbook and design work here www.stucodesign.com. Talented people drawing talented people. It’s a bit Twilight Zone for a Monday morning I realise.
Sorry to announce that our next free event by Stand in Glasgow has been postponed until later in the year.
I’m sure you were all looking forward to it, but unfortunalety the guys at Stand are up to there eyes with work (which is a good thing) and can’t commit to the planned June event.
We’ll keep you posted, but it’s looking like October time after Bibliothèque speak in Edinburgh.
We’ve been overwhelmed by demand for this event and we’ve now reached capacity for the venue – very kindly given to us by The Glasgow School of Art.
Sorry if you’ve not managed to get a space for this, and if you’ve reserved a spot and now can’t come please let us know so we can give it to someone else.
Really looking forward to it.

So I obviously I am lucky enough to meet a load of designers when I am at LongLunch and quite often I forget peoples names and wake up with a clutch of business cards in my mitts in the morning after a talk. Most of those cards sit on my desk and in brief moments of space and time I check their sites.
So it struck me today that sometimes I take for granted that these designers just exist doing great work pushing the Scottish Design Industry forward. This is not in the spirit of LongLunch, as all of us believe in Scottish Design and designers and therefore where we can we should celebrate the talent that supports us. So, without further ado, I doff my cap to two splendid examples of the breed.
Gil, one of the team at FormFiftyFive and lead designer at SansGil has just done us a huge huge favour. Not only has he helped out as part of the LongLunch team at recent London events but he’s just spend hours producing a sweet video for us which will hopefully be going on the London Underground to promote LL and our talks.

So, as the title suggests, who would like to be sent a poster before each London event? (if they get designed and printed in time!)
What we’d like to do is send posters to offices with 10 or more designers. That’s not to say we don’t want designers from smaller firms to get a poster but with literally thousands of small design agencies in London we’d go bankrupt on postage alone! So we have to draw the line somewhere, and we think this is a sensible place to draw it.
If you would like to receive a poster—by snail mail—to your office please email Brian with “LongLunch London poster list” as the subject line.
For our Scottish followers you can be added to the mailing list by sending Andy a quick email with “LongLunch Scottish poster list” as the subject and he’ll add your name to the long list he already has.
Don’t forget, Bibliothèque are talking in London on Monday evening at the Design Museum — we will have a ton of free posters to give away, lovingly printed by Push.
The return of the Lighthouse continues next week with the Design Museum’s outreach talks coming to town. Their Made in Italy series will feature Curator and lecturer Daniel Charny, designer Fabio Novembre, and curator and editor Joseph Grima, who will explore how Milan and the annual Salone de Mobile provoke and promote new Italian design.
We should point out this is sponsored by Peroni, and so will have free beer afterwards. Tickets are available from the Design Museum.
Thanks to our friends over on FormFiftyFive helping promote the talk, we’ve now reached capacity for the venue – very kindly given to us by The Glasgow School of Art.
Sorry if you’ve not managed to get a space for this, and if you’ve reserved a spot and now can’t come please let us know so we can give it to someone else.
Really looking forward to it.

Welcome to the LongLunch website. LongLunch has grown out of a need between like minded souls to meet and converse. To understand and to learn. To grow and to give. To eat and to Drink.
LongLunch has been bringing the design community of GB together as often as possible (since 2003) through events, designed to promote goodwill and friendship between those who choose to live on our little island. Our talks are located in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh, details can be found on who, where and how much here.
