Lava is an Amsterdam based design agency, founded in 1990. It has strong roots in editorial design, which has trained them to work as visual storytellers. Over the years, this way of thinking has lead to a unique approach to identity, and communication design. Lava’s creative team consists of graphic, motion and interactive designers that work for a diverse range of clients from the commercial, governmental, non-profit and cultural sector.

In May 2010 Lava was named ‘European Design Agency of the Year’ at the European Design Awards – the first Dutch agency to win the award. “It’s as if we’ve won the Champions League!” Hans Wolbers said.
