Nils Leonard – Uncommon

Nils Leonard is a designer, entrepreneur and co-founder of Uncommon. Launched alongside Lucy Jameson and Natalie Graeme their infectious mix of positive frustration is the driving force behind a new type of agency, one that aims to be “a creative studio that builds brands people in the real world actually wish existed”.

Their first piece of work for energy company OVO was a good indication of what was to follow and they’ve gone on to shake up the mortgage world with Habito, get Britain talking with ITV and even kept Brewdog honest. All this whilst working on international projects for Google and WWF and taking on the global giant Nespresso by launching their own coffee brand Halo.

Prior to Uncommon Nils spent over 20 years working at a number of the most recognised agencies in London. Most notably was his time at Grey London where he rose through the ranks to CCO and Chairman. His untraditional design background transformed the creative output and culture during that time (controversially removing conventions like the ‘sign off’ process) as he oversaw the most profitable and awarded years in the agency’s history.
