Good afternoon, one and all.

After the unqualified success of our last event with Paula Scher – and a well-earned summer break – we are back, on the east coast this time, and looking forward to providing some famous LongLunch hospitality to none other than super heavyweight designer and typographer, Paul Barnes.

Currently based in London, Barnes is a partner alongside Christian Schwartz at the Internationally acclaimed type foundry, Commercial Type. While working in New York in the early 90s he was involved in the redesigns of Newsweek, US, British Esquire and Foreign Affairs. During the same period he art directed other hight profile titles including Esquire Gentleman and Spin, as well as serving as an advisor on a list of other notable publications.

In more recent times, he has designed bespoke lettering for football kits for PUMA and the English FA, identities for fashion companies and musicians (with Peter Saville) and has received recognition, and numerous awards, as part of the team that famously redesigned – and reinvented – the Guardian newspaper in 2005.

Tickets for the event on Thursday 2 October will be on sale soon. We’ll be sending another email out with further details, so keep your peepers peeled.
